The nominated candidate:
Michele Beaton - Family-oriented and dedicated to her community, Michele Beaton believes in an open and honest approach to politics, and brings her excellent listening skills to the task at hand. Michele wants to promote respect, collaboration and responsible public engagement as a way forward and understands the realities of today’s political climate.
Beaton was born and raised in Alexandra and values the strong resilient community around her. Home to a rich agricultural area, Alexandra is a mix of rural and suburban residents and business owners.
“Helping young people have a better understanding of where their food comes from can be a challenge. This is something I feel strongly about and would like to find creative ways to help PEI’s children know more about where their food is grown and how it is grown”, says Beaton.
Beaton has a daughter attending the school in Stratford and has first-hand experience about the current education system and looks forward to hearing what people in District 5 think about the education system on PEI.
Leader, Peter Bevan-Baker was on hand, with several other nominated candidates, and spoke to attendees about the importance of our agricultural sector. “Prince Edward Island offers incredible potential for growth in our agricultural industry. We value large, medium and small farms and look to sustainable ways of ensuring there is a future for agriculture on PEI.” Bevan-Baker stated. “Adding Michele Beaton as the District 5 candidate to our growing team, means a stronger, smarter and kinder team, one we can make a real difference with.” Bevan-Baker continued.
